Judeo-Christians talk about a “Creation”, and the same theory was modified by a Catholic priest in 1927, and is today known as “Big Bang”. It is the same theory, only slightly altered to fit a more ‘scientific-oriented audience’ – formulated to fuel the egos of those who think they are too good and intelligent for ‘religion’: to ensure that they remain in error.
Judeo-Christians talk about Creation taking some time too, 7 days in all, and again this theory remains. It has been altered too, but in essence still the same, known as “The Theory of Evolution”. They modified the biblical explanation a bit, and stretched the 7 days out to last for millions of year, but in essence it’s the same theory, only slightly altered to fit a more ‘scientific-oriented audience’ – formulated to fuel the egos of those who think they are too good and intelligent for ‘religion’: to ensure that they remain in error.
In reality we have no idea from whence we come or even what the universe is, why we are here or whither we are going. Neither religion nor science can provide us with any reliable answers to these questions. Instead, religion and science ensures that we don’t think about these questions, and instead just accept their illogical nonsense as absolute truths.
Although I don’t trust their theories to hold much or even any water, I am not going to claim that I know the truth in this context. I don’t. However, my mind has not been lulled into sleep by some humbug theory, whether religious or ‘scientific’ in nature. So my mind remains alert, investigating, curious and open to all and everything. It has not been ‘put to sleep in a bed called error’. I know that I know nothing.
NB. I believe in micro-evolution, but not macro-evolution.
