As a Pagan I constantly hear from the enemies of Paganism that the Pagans used to sacrifice humans to their gods. There is evidence they indeed did so, but those who present this evidence to us in books, or talk about this on TV documentaries and such, are not only most often Judeo-Christians, but of course always modern human beings. They see human sacrifice as an abomination, a horrible and utterly primitive religious practice from a distant past, that they “of course” are ashamed of, often on behalf of peoples and races that they not even belong to themselves.

Naturally, I am of another opinion…

Yes, you see, the gods and goddesses of Europe were present on Earth, also as real physical beings: the best men and women, boys and girls, impersonated them, became them and thus were them on Earth. When an individual in a society committed a crime, he had to stand trial in front of his gods, here on Earth. Most of the time he would be asked to pay fines – to repair the damage he had caused. Some times he was outlawed, usually for one year and a day – to give him a chance to improve, and to also protect the society from his darkness until he had. To the (in their eyes) more serious crimes such as murder (i. e. a dishonourable killing), horse theft, cowardice, homosexuality, adultery, and also repeating minor offenses (sort of like “three strikes out”) would result in a death sentence, though. The idea was that: “one bad apple spoils the barrel, so when we find one we need to get rid of it before it is to late.”

The gods were the judges, here on Earth, convicting the criminals, and therefore their priests or priestesses were responsible for carrying out the executions – in form of what we today describe as a human sacrifice – to the gods. So they didn’t just “sacrifice” people randomly to their deities. They were in fact just execution criminals judged (by the gods themselves!) unfit for life.

So what they did was pretty much exactly the same as many societies still do today, including the hard-core Judeo-Christian USA: they executed criminals…

The Pagan justice system was interwoven with the religion itself. There was no distinction between worldly and spiritual/religious power, no separate “state” and “church”. The kings and judges were also the gods. Therefore the executions of criminals where carried out as human sacrifices to the gods.

We do the same today, only on an industrial scale, and without offering anything to anybody, save to those who can pay for the product… after we have pumped water into it, so that it is more heavy (you pay by the pound, right!?), and after we have sprayed all sorts of more or less poisonous chemicals on it, for all sorts of mad reasons.

Our forebears had more closeness to nature and the animals they ate. They had the idea that they should think a bit before they killed an animal, and then offer parts of the animal back to the deity they belonged to, in gratitude to the animal giving its life so that man could eat. The deity was naturally a man or woman, boy or girl, impersonating the deity on Earth. Naturally they too had to eat, and they didn’t get any food from working as gods or goddesses in some temple, and nor did their priests and priestesses. Just like Buddhist monks today, they were depending on food gifts from people to survive. And therefore people sacrificed animals to their gods… so that everybody could eat well, thrive and live.

There is no reason to complicate what or forebears did, and try to make “sacrifices” and “rituals” and “ceremonies” sound so bad. There is no reason to think sharing is bad: take some for yourself, and give some to the deities – those most wonderful and most beautiful individuals amongst us, who work for us, for our interests, as our kings and queens, gods and goddesses, and judges too, and who were selected for this task because they were the best suited. Sacrifice to them what you can afford, and not what some state tells you to, in percentage of your income….

It has been said before, on this blog, that our forebears were better than us. Or if you like: that we were better in long forgotten previous lives. It has also been said, on this blog, that Judeo-Christianity is the main reason for this fall. It is not the only reason, though, and you might well argue that the mixing of species that occurred long before Antiquity is in fact an even more important reason for our fall. And you might well be right if you do. The mixing of species ruined us, stripped us of our natural defenses, and then Judeo-Christianity crept into our broken world like a worm, finishing us off with it’s poison– turning us into feeble, coward, useless, worthless and ugly shadows of what we once was.

Naturally reality is more complicated than that, and there are so many factors that have contributed to our fall. The worst is perhaps the factors that made us turn everything on it’s head: the deepest and darkest wells became the tallest and fairest towers; the foulest trolls became the most beautiful elves; the dearest brothers became the most hated enemies; and the vilest laziness became the greatness of mankind! ‘Harmony’ turned into ‘civilization’. ‘Survival of the fittest’ turned into ‘survival of the laziest’.

Aye, this is what happened: man began to invent not because he was brilliant, because he was creative or because he had great visions! No! He began to invent because he was lazy, because he no longer coped with his situation, and because he was left behind in the natural race. He became a failed hunter, so he needed better hunting tools and hunting techniques. He became a bad navigator, so he needed tools to assist him in that context too. He became worse at everything, because of the mixing of species.

With time – as the European man continued to fall – he kept inventing things, that were to make life easier for him – and easier and easier. And the more he invented, the less he himself needed to be of any quality whatsoever to survive, so he just fell faster and faster, as time went by. The once skilled, brave and happy hunter-gatherer became a fat, burger-eating, TV-watching subhuman, so lazy he needed a car to even bother picking up the mail 50 yards from his front door. With time he will become so degenerate that he is no longer able to reproduce at all, even with the help of modern medicine, and then mankind on this planet will cease to exist.

Aye, this is the fruits of civilization. This is the inevitable end of the ‘civilized’ man, unless of course technology ends us before that happens. And yet we celebrate this darkest and deepest well as the fairest and tallest of towers…. We are proud of what we have created! Fools amongst us even use it to prove our (European) superiority to others.

My wife has suggested several times, that what we create today is just replacements for abilities that we had before. Before the mixing of species we didn’t need any of it: not computers, not star maps, not compasses, certainly not cars, not cameras, not electricity. Not anything modern. We could sense directions, just like many animals can. We could photograph with our minds. We could store immense ammounts of data in our brains. Etc. The mixing if species left us with an emptiness, a void inside us, that we since then tried to fill with…. all this technology, and not least with art. So we remember a harmony that we can no longer achieve. We try to, over and over again, but we are not able to. So no matter what we do, we end up disappointed. There is no ‘salvation’. There is no escape. There is no solution. We just don’t have what we need to achieve what we want: what we had before we mixed.

So we degenerate. So we accelerate our own destruction, with more and more technology, with more and more mixing of species and races. The European man commits suicide… and the other species and races will be dragged down into the abyss with him – no matter what they do. They have been in the same boat for quite some time already. Mankind is doomed!

Ah, well. What can one say but ‘good riddance’? I shed no tears for people running willingly into their own doom. I will encourage them to do so, as soon as possible. “Run you pigs, run right into the slaughter house!” See if I care. We are better off without them. The entire planet Earth is better off without them. *spit*

You see, ‘mankind’ is an interesting entity. It is in no need of 7 or 8 billion human beings to exist, to survive and thrive. In fact, it survived and thrived much better in the past, when it was made up of maybe only 100,000 human beings in all – all over the planet. It is still ‘mankind’. If 99.99% of today’s ‘mankind’ jumps off a cliff and dies, ‘mankind’ will probably be much better off tomorrow… because those who didn’t jump off that cliff will not only pose less of a threat to the harmony of this planet, but will probably also be made up of those who wanted to live, who wanted not to cultivate laziness, stupidity and degeneration. Those who didn’t jump off that cliff would probably still not achieve harmony with anything at all, but they would have the wisdom to think that: “If we do the right thing, if we cultivate only the strong, beautiful, the healthy and natural man, then one day we will”.

Most human beings today do jump off that cliff. They follow the herd into the abyss, into their own doom, thinking nothing thereupon. As an Ôðalist I will instead start the long and hard walk back to Harmony; on overgrown paths, through thickset forests and brushwood, life after life after life, until I one day will finally have returned to the place from whence I came. Purified. Improved. Restored.

My UAZ-469b is from before 1985 (it was first registered with “Western” European plates the 1st of January 1988), and was originally purchased by a German (after the reunification of Germany) from the former army of the DDR, and was then sold in 1995 to a former French Mirage pilot, and when I purchased it from him it had been standing most of its time in storage.

My UAZ:

Some insignificant rubber parts had to be replaced, but other than that it was in perfect condition. The paint had fallen off parts of the car, exposing the bare metal underneath to the elements, but still: there was no rust whatsoever on the frame or body! The car stood parked in the rain like that for some time, after I had purchased it, and before I had the time to paint it, and there was still no rust.

I own a Soviet designed, but Russian made, Lada Niva as well, purchased brand new in 2010, and if any metal from that car is not covered by paint it will start to rust in a matter of hours. Even if the car itself is parked in a garage. So from the moment I got the Niva, I have been working hard to keep the rust away. I regularly check the car, and when I find some rust I remove it, with steel brushes, sand paper and acid, and then paint over with special anti-corrosion paint. This however, is a losing battle, because there are so many inaccessible parts of a car. What about rust inside the frame? What about the inside of the body? It is just a matter of time before my dear Lada Niva will die from this ‘car cancer’.

So why is there such a big difference between these two cars? I asked my good friend Anton, a Russian, and he said simply that the Soviet Union made cars that were intended to last, and Russia is instead doing it the capitalist way, and trying to save money by using cheap materials and by not treating the metal parts in the car properly. So I learned something: you can, if you wish, make a car that will not rust… almost no matter what. I also learned that they don’t do that: not in Russia or elsewhere in Europe, not in the USA, not in Japan, not anywhere.

Why not?

Naturally the UAZ-469b, the standard Soviet military 4×4 for decades, is not perfect; it is crudely made, and we can assume also that some incompetence has influenced both its design and its construction. Any flaws it may have though, are unintentional. The car was intended to last forever. It was designed to be as good as possible, to be reliable and to be easily repaired if broken. (Had it been designed and made in Germany, with the same ideology behind it, it probably would have been the best car ever….)

Thankfully, the Lada Niva too was designed in the Soviet Union, but it is a civilian car, so less effort was made to make it last forever, and my Niva is made in capitalist Russia, and therefore it is of inferior quality compared to my UAZ.

So again: why is it the case that everything we can buy in our world today is of poor quality at best? I invite you to learn the truth about this, and you can by watching the documentary linked to here. I strongly recommend that you do. It will probably change your perception of capitalism, consumerism and the world we live in.

The European mythology has been interpreted for us by Judeo-Christians, and their version of our heritage has been spread throughout the literate world.

Our mythology has been reduced to a funny curiosity, a primitive fairy tale, a silly misunderstanding of reality. There is nothing to it other than that, really…. it’s not even a religion; it’s just a mythology.

Our world was seen as a tree, and if the tree fell the sky would fall down, and of course all the Pagans were convinced that this was nonsense when the glorious and heroic priests of Christendom chopped down the Irminsûl in Germany and the sky didn’t fall down. Ha ha, how could they be so silly and ignorant, right?

Our gods are like cartoon figures, flying through the air riding eight-legged horses and wagons pulled by goats or cats. Freyja is the goddess of love. Óðinn the god of war and poetry. Þórr the god of thunder. Et cetera. They are one-dimensional characters all of them, so shallow that even the average 4e D&D character would stand out as immensively deep in comparison.

No need to dig any deeper… it’s all nonsense. Entertaining, yes, but that’s it. Move along. Move on to the more advanced monotheistic religions. Yes, evolution made sure we developed more advanced religions, than those primitive polytheistic ones. Religions with morals. Yes, there are no morals in the primitive religions.

As you can gather, the above is pretty much how our societies present the world view and religion of our forebears to us all. It’s all nonsense, gone forever and thank God it is… We will not return to it anymore than we will return to believing the world is flat.

Only… our forebears never thought the world was flat. This is a modern myth. We know that they perfectly well knew that the world is round. Linguists all agree on this, and we have plenty of archaeological evidence supporting this too. Like these statues: would they picture the world as a globe if they thought it was flat? Would they even use the term “globe” to describe the world, if they thought it was flat? (Google “Atlas carrying the world on his shoulders” for more images, such as the one below… note that also those images of Atlas made in Antiquity show him carrying a globe.)

No, they did not think the world was flat, and when you realize that, you should understand that everything else they tell us about the myhtologies of our forebears is a lie too.

Let me start with the Scandinavian world tree, pictured as a tree growing on a flat disc (they did believe the Earth is flat, after all, right?…), with the roots reaching down into Hel and the crown of the tree into the sky, where the gods reside. The stem is located in the world of the living, Middle-Earth… So there is a world of the dead, a world of the living and a world of gods.

The main problem I see here is that they separate man from the divine; man is on Earth, and the divine in Heaven, and some times the divine moves amongst us silly mortals here on Earth. Sorry, but that is not Paganism: that’s the Judeo-Christian world view. In Paganism man becomes a deity, on Earth, by impersonating him. He goes through an initiation process, he improves, he matures, he becomes better; he cultivates the divine in himself and through that becomes a god himself! The divine is always there, inside him and all around him, influencing the course of events. So the gods and man live next to each other, in the same world. They all live in Ásgarðr (“the spirit garden”), the crown of the tree of life.

Yeah right:

So what is Miðgarðr (“Middle Earth”) then? It is located in between the world of life (Ásgarðr) and the world of death (Hel). But what is? Birth? Dying? Some sort of undead world? Actually: yes…

The Middle Earth is the burial mound, a fenced in sacred place, where the bodies of the honourable dead reside. The honourable dead are not dead forever though: they are just waiting to be reborn, so they are not in Hel (“hidden”), where the shadows reside, but in a Middle Earth, a world in between life and death: when you are dead but are just waiting to be reborn again.

Examples of Middle Earth:

Ergo: dead is only what is not honourable and worthy of remembrance.

The idea is that when I die my shadow (i. e. the bad I have ever done) will be cast into Hel, to be forever gone (i. e. forgotten). We don’t want that. We only want to remember the good I did. We only want to bring with us into the future the memory of my honourable deeds. Why would the next generation want to cultivate my bad aspects or my mistakes? They would not become divine by doing so! They will only become divine by cultivating the good, the just, the strong, the fair, the brave et cetera. They will only grow better from the memory of their dead if they remember them only for the good they did. Dwell not in the shadows; it will only darken your mind.

We, ladies and gentlemen, live in Ásgarðr, alongside the gods and goddesses. If you can not see them it’s only because a shadow clouds your mind, because a veil of lies covers your eyes, or because a Judeo-Christian choir is screaming lies into your ears, and thus prevents you from hearing the divine song. The divine is here: in the air, in the trees, in the water, in the soil and rocks, and most importantly: in you! You have the potential to become a god or a goddess yourself. Just reach out and grab all that is good, and embrace it until your last breath. Cling unto it with all your force, and never let go of it, no matter how hard the shadows pull and try to pry it from your hands. Become one with the divine; become divine yourself! Make sure that what is good becomes inseparable from what is you! When you do there is nothing they can do to harm you:

There is no death for the honourable. They live forever: they return to life from the Middle Earth, the world in between the world of the dead and the world of the living, when they are chosen by children to be reborn – as them.

The European religion is a system for the cultivation of the good in man, of the honourable deeds and the honourable life – with the aim to turn society into a “heaven on Earth” (because life on Earth is what we have!) and the best men and women into deities. It is a way to turn lead into gold, so to speak, in a spiritual sense.

The European religion is a celebration of life on Earth, in great contrast to the death-worshipping Judeo-Christianity, which spreads nothing but contempt for life on Earth, and favours some fictional “Paradise”, where the Judeo-Christians presumably don’t have to do anything hard (or honourable…) ever again. Judeo-Christianity is but a cultivation of laziness, hedonism and cowardice.

I am a Pagan, so I walk on overgrown paths, through the dense underbrush of a vast shadowy wilderness. Some times I walk in darkness, knowing not what fate leads me into. Some times I walk in freezing rain, and struggle to stay alive. I often stumble over old roots and hidden crevices in the ground. I fall on sharp rocks and tree stumps, into cold streams and down steep cliffs. But every time I do I smile, take pride in my bruises and cuts, get back up and keep walking. Life is good, not “even” in adversity, but in particular in adversity, because adversity is what brings forth the opportunity for you to prove yourself, to gain honour!

Your honour is what will make your descendants remember you, admire you and become better because of you.

First some music:

Yes, she is described by the scholars as being a dís, a female vanr, a goddess of love and fertility – who slept with seven dwarves to get a necklace. They will tell you that after a war between the two races of gods she was accepted amongst the æsir (“spirits”), but that she originally was of another race of gods. Some add that perhaps the vanir were the original Scandinavian gods, testament to a matriarchal cult, which was replaced by the gods and cult of the immigrating Indo-European battle axe peoples, which replaced the European populations some thousand years ago. Or at least assimilated them. Acording to them, that is…

Please allow me to wake you up from this Judeo-Christian fantasy.

Every Spring our forebears arranged contests, so called ring games, that they used to select the best amongst them. The “best” was defined as (for women) the most beautiful and hard-working or (for men) the bravest, strongest, wisest and most capable. As explained in The Sacred Marriage and The Apples of Eternal Youth.

There was no “war” between different races of gods: there was only an annual May contest, intended to find “the most beautiful” amongst them; the winners of the past year’s contest participated, trying to keep their titles and win the games this year as well. Only the deities (= initiated men and women) could participate, and the winners were called the vanir (“beautiful”). So they were all æsir, and the winners were called vanir too.

With the coming of the spiritual Black Death (alias Judeo-Christianity) to Europe these games changed: the European man refused to let go of his heritage, even under threats of death and torture, so the May games turned into annual knight tournaments, and the selection of the “Freyja” was done with the lance; by lowering the lance towards the favoured maiden, who would tie her handkerchief to the lance if she accepted the knight as her champion. The knight would then tie her handkerchief to his sleeve, to make sure he didn’t lose it (spawning the proverb: “Carry your heart on your sleeve”).

I can add that these knight tournaments were practised continously from late Antiquity up until the 19^th (or even the 20^th) century, the last ones I think in Saxony in Germany. I can also add that these games are still being practised in Scandinavia, every (in Norway the 17^th of) May – only they have been reduced to just fun competitive games for children.

Freyja is not of another divine race. She is just the most beautiful female individual in the group. There was no Indo-European invasion into Europe or a conquest by some “battle axe” people; there was only migration of tribes, back and forth, and back again, and then by chance the language of one of these pretty much by then identical tribes became the most popular and widely used – and their axes became status symbols (like e. g. some cars today are). Basque, Finnish and Magyar are no less European because of that though, or more European for that sake – and as much as 40% of the Germanic vocabulary is actually proto-Scandinavian, and not Indo-European at all. Not that it matters though: both Indo-European and proto-Scandinavian are European languages.

Further, there was no change in cults in Europe. We have practised our European religion continuously since pre-historic times, and the changes we have seen have been minuscul. Freyja has been the same always, and she still is. Her name is an honoury title given to the most beautiful divine (=initiated) girls amongst us, and it means “free”, “liberate” and “love”. She is the mother of the light elves, meaning that your immortality is secured through honour: only the honourable becomes light elves in the grave, waiting to be reborn.

Yet further, I will add that no: Freyja is not a goddess of “fertility”. Getting pregnant was hardly a problem for women in the Ancient World (even though it is today, for many, because of our modern lifestyle). As my wife has pointed out, what was a problem was the birth itself: after the native Europeans (=Neanderthals) mixed with Homo Sapiens, surviving birth became a challenge for the women. The mixing of species had left the women with a narrower and smaller pelvis, meaning the infants with big European heads often killed the mother (and the baby) when she tried to give birth to them. (Yes: European new-borns have the biggest heads in the world… and in Europe “of course” the Scandinavian new-borns are the biggest. European women also have the longest pregnancies, on average one week longer than Asian ones and two weeks longer than African ones). This is also why we see the so-called “Venus figures” (from the Stone Age), which are, my wife has pointed out, not at all an idealization of fat women, but obviously images of women just after they have given birth: in other words women who have just survived the most dangerous thing they could be exposed to!

Finally, the confusing myth about her sleeping with seven dwarves to get the necklace of fire, causing her to be called a whore and a slut by the Judeo-Christians. First of all, a “dwarf” is actually the body of a dead person, resting underground, with all his most valuable possessions. Also, the necklace of fire is the bonfires along the coast, burning and lighting up the night on the Summer Solstice, when Freyja is said to be (re-)born; she ascends naked from the water, with the reflection of the many bonfires around her neck.

In order to be re-born, you first have to die, right? And if the bodies of the dead are called “dwarves”, then you have to “sleep with the dwarves” in order to be re-born. This is also, as it happens, exactly how our forebears were initiated and became divine, as described in I trow I hung on that windy Tree. In order to become Freyja, the girls had to enter the grave and be symbolically re-born, as goddesses. They completed this rite of passage by undressing and then rising naked from the sea (which explains why the Greeks called her Aphrodite), on the Summer Solstice, and then jump naked through the fire, to show their courage and to be cleansed by the fire.

Dwarf

gjá = opening in the ground.

Ergo: dwarf is originally a name on the entrance to the burial mound: a door opening in the ground, a place where they put in the bodies of the dead – who because of that became known as the “dwarves”. The dwarves are also known as dark elves, because the bodies of the dead where pale/white and placed in the darkness of the burial mound. Elf means “white” (from the PIE root *alba-).

Freyja is a goddess of love, freedom, youthful health and beauty (in mind and body). She is “just” a human being: the most beautiful of the initiated girls in your group, chosen to represent the divine principles of love, freedom, youthful health and beauty. All “worship” of her must be seen in this light.

There is more to say about Freyja, and you will find more about her in the posts linked to in Per aspera ad astra, and in my book Sorcery and Religion in Ancient Scandinavia, but for now, this will do…

Think better of her, and think better of your forebears and their ability to shape wonderful, beautiful and healthy societies, where the good in man and nature was cultivated like no other place. Think better of everything European in general… rip down and cast aside the sinister veil of lies put up in between you and your heritage by the Judeo-Christians.

I will hail Freyja, and present her as a much better ideal for young girls and women, than any of the women (or rather: females…) that they are encouraged to embrace today by mainstream society. I am sure that I have all sane men with me, when I say that we dream of Freyjas, not “Rhiannas” or “Lady Gagas” or anything of that sort.

A little slide-show about some of the fruits of “progress” and “growth” in our world.

The Dark Ages is a term used to describe the period between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance. It is called by that name because “The period is characterized by a relative scarcity of historical and other written records at least for some areas of Europe, rendering it obscure to historians”. We can also read that: “The concept of a Dark Age originated with the Italian scholar Petrarch (Francesco Petrarca) in the 1330s, and was originally intended as a sweeping criticism of the character of Late Latin literature. Petrarch regarded the post-Roman centuries as “dark” compared to the light of classical antiquity. Later historians expanded the term to refer to the transitional period between Roman times and the High Middle Ages (c. 11th–13th century), including the lack of Latin literature, and a lack of contemporary written history, general demographic decline, limited building activity and material cultural achievements in general. Later historians and writers picked up the concept, and popular culture has further expanded on it as a vehicle to depict the Middle Ages as a time of backwardness, extending its pejorative use and expanding its scope.”

As we know, the fall of Rome came shortly after the introduction of Judeo-Christianity as the official cult, and we also know that the Renaissance was a renaissance of the ‘Pagan’ (i. e. European) culture, ideals, philosophy, science and values, that by the 14^th century had began to return to Europe from the Muslim world via crusaders and Muslim invaders. Unlike the Judeo-Christians, who burned and destroyed everything European they came across, the Muslims had kept the European literature they came across.

The early Dark Ages are described as “The Migration Period”, when different European tribes moved about: first Huns and Goths, Vandals, Saxons, Jutes and Angles and other Germanic tribes, then Slavs and others too. They were – according to history – forced to move by other tribes. History don’t say much about why this migration period came about in the first place though, why the first tribes started to migrate, pushing others to do the same. We do however know why the Scandinavians started to move about in the Viking Age, and we know that they were not forced to move by other migrating tribes: they started to move about because of the aggression of Judeo-Christians in the south. Yes, interestingly, the “moving about” of tribes correspond well only with the spread of Judeo-Christianity in Europe… After Southern Europe had been Christianized, the spread of Judeo-Christianity came first to Western Europe, then to Eastern Europe, then finally to Northern Europe. And wherever it came the tribes started to ‘migrate’.

Rather than tell us what happened in this time of “demographic decline”, historians today just – safely – state that “we don’t know”. It’s a Dark Age….

That is of course very convenient for the Judeo-Christians, whose historians basically say that: “Judeo-Christianity rose in the Roman Empire in spite of the cruel and unjust persecution by the emperors, then the Roman Empire fell (because of pressure from “barbarians”, must say: not because of the disruptive, criminal and destructive work of Judeo-Christians inside the Roman Empire….) and after a few hundred years of historical darkness, that we don’t know much about, most of Europe emerged Judeo-Christian.”

We have written sources describing how the Romans, the Scandinavians, the Balts and the Finns resisted the Christianization violently, but conveniently we have no sources describing how the other Europeans reacted (but we are told to believe that the other European tribes were simply converted….because the message of “Jesus” is so true and convincing, of course). We just know that they started to “migrate” and that there was “demographic decline” in Europe at the time. And then when history was being recorded again they were all Judeo-Christians. Hallelujah!

Let me tell you what I think happened: the Judeo-Christians destroyed the Roman Empire from within, and whilst doing so the “barbarian” peoples of Europe defended themselves, from the Judeo-Christian poison coming from the Roman Empire, by attacking the Roman Empire – just like the Scandinavians defended themselves from the same poison a few hundred years later, in the Viking Age, by attacking mainly the Judeo-Christian missionary centers (i. e. monasteries) in Judeo-Christian Europe.

The conversion of Europeans was – as described in the later Scandinavian Viking Age sources – by means of threats, violence, torture, hostage taking, child abduction and murder. The Judeo-Christians operated the most ruthless, violent and cruel mafias, with the Pope and the Great Patriarch as the godfathers, and gained power in the same manner as criminal organisations today gain power.

This caused entire tribes to migrate, to flee from their terror, in an attempt to get away from them. So the Saxons, the Jutes, the Angles, the Belgae etc. fled to Pagan lands, the British Isles. Others charged head on, and sacked Rome (again…). Yet others moved entirely out of Europe, like the Vandals.

When the Judeo-Christian sicarii-like mob came to Scandinavia, just before the Viking Age, this was the reason for the sudden ‘Viking’ activity, and only then came ‘The Viking Age”, and many there too fled, to Ireland, to Scotland, to Iceland and even to the Americas, where the Judeo-Christians were weak or where they had no power at all, or they charged head on and sacked the monasteries from whence the terrorists came, and cut them down like the genocidal criminals they were.

Yes, I think the ‘demographic decline’ in Europe from year 400 to 800 was the result of a genocide perpetrated by the Judeo-Christians. They were terrorizing and killing Europeans en masse, men and women, young and old, boys and girls, and even infants – and we don’t know about this because they covered up their crime by – conveniently – erasing 400 years of written history. And they could do that: they wrote this history themselves, they kept the books themselves, in their monasteries. Getting rid of these books was no problem. So they did (and they still do the same, even to the events we have experienced in our own age: they erase or re-write history as they see fit).

To us it’s just a dark age, that we “know nothing about”, and then we are supposed to believe that Europe accepted Judeo-Christianity willingly, without resistance. The Viking Age is written off as the fruits of Scandinavian “barbarism” and “Pagan aggression”, and the Roman resistance was just absurd, and only a result of ignorance. “They even accused the Judeo-Christians of cannibalism, ha ha ha”. How ridicules. Right?

The hard facts are that Europe after the Christianization and before the Renaissance is referred to by modern scientists (including archaeologists) like this: “general demographic decline, limited building activity and material cultural achievements in general.” These are the fruits of Judeo-Christianity. Europe before Judeo-Christianity was prosperous, scientifically advanced, educated, healthy, spiritually advanced, culturally advanced and artistically advanced, and all of this did only return to Europe with the Renaissance, the beginning of the end of Judeo-Christianity in Europe, when Europe started to find back to its own roots. Europe started the long walk back to life, after having suffered in the Judeo-Christian darkness for so long.

We are still walking, or rather climbing uphill, back to Olympus, so to speak. We still struggle to get rid of the darkness, but we prevail: every day we live we prevail over their darkness. We have found the light of our forebears, and no amount of Judeo-Christian darkness can extinguish that light.

Finally, I will add a note on how to destroy Judeo-Christianity in Europe, and remove it from our soil, lock stock and barrel: we just have to inform our young about the nature and origin of Judeo-Christianity, and raise them as good Europeans instead. No informed, sane, well-fed, healthy and free human being will ever convert or has ever converted to Judeo-Christianity!

Forget about the old: they are lost to brainwash and shame and are soon dead anyhow, from old age, but we must make sure that they take their perverse foreign cult with them when they die. Judeo-Christianity can in theory be completely removed from Europe in only one single generation! So let us do so! If we do all our other problems will go away too, because Judeo-Christianity is the root to just about all our problems today!

Amongst all the conspiracy theories and dim future perspectives we have heard about, there is one that most surely will spell the doom of the modern world. It will spell the doom of most of mankind too, but as we know: mankind doesn’t need 7 billion human beings in order to survive. In fact, it is more likely to survive with even only a few thousand individual human beings.

Today absolutely everything that holds up civilisation is 100% dependent on electricity. So when the electricity goes so does civilisation.

Today almost everybody are 100% dependent on civilisation to survive. So when civilisation goes, so does most of humanity.

About every 150^th year a great solar storm hits the Earth, and destroys everything electronic and the entire electricity network as well. In the past this was not a problem: there was no electricity in the first place, no satellites, and more importantly: there were no nuclear power-plants… Yes, you see: the nuclear power-plants need electricity in order to be shut down safely, and it takes months to do. If the electricity goes (and their backup power generators will of course suffer the same fate as the rest of the electricity system), then they will melt down – and every nuclear power-plant on this planet will turn into a Tschernobyl. If a great solar storm hits the Earth then all cars will die too, and all other means of transportation as well, so nobody will be able to manually extinguish the fires at the power-plants, and at least some life on our planet, that is mankind, will be severely… challenged, so to speak, by this.

The few human beings still alive about 1 year after the next great solar storm face a life very different from what they are used to, and if you want to survive I suggest you prepare for that.

10 Survival tips:

1. Don’t live in an urban environment. If you do you are almost sure to perish, no matter what you do; no matter what precautions you take.
2. Buy Iodine pills en masse, and take them very quickly when SHTF. You need to take them before the radiation hits you.
3. Live in the countryside, as far away from the nearest nuclear power-plant as possible.
4. Learn useful skills. “Know how” books are more valuable to you than a hundred times their own weight in gold. Learn to grow your own food, to hunt, to trap, to treat injuries, to treat the sick and to use manuals tools.
5. Buy tons of manual tools.
6. Stay in great shape. If you are male run a lot (in the countryside…).
7. Stockpile rice. You can survive on only rice for several years! At least 2-300 kg rice per person will keep you alive long enough for you to have the time to start growing your own food.
8. Keep hens (the older the race, the better), and get a guard dog to keep the fox away. Their eggs will be a good addition to the rice, and some very few very old races are still able to hatch their own eggs.
9. Stay home when SHTF, Don’t start walking around to look for others unless you absolutely have to.
10. You will be bored, because you are used to so much entertainment, so buy tons of pencils, erasers, and MYFAROG, the tabletop RPG. Print out tons of character sheets in good time before SHTF. It will keep you entertained for decades. ;-) 

Last year individuals in the government of France, without permission from a judge, had their police shoot up our front door in the early morning (rather than just knock on the door). They did not identify themselves as policemen until after they have breached the door and entered, but thankfully I could see through the glass that they were indeed policemen. (We can only speculate on why they did it that way.) They arrested my pregnant wife and me, and left our scared children – age 2, 3 and 5 at the time – to the care of my boomer parents-in-law, who (according to the children) instead of comforting them hit the oldest one and told them all that they would not see us again.

The police arrested us without having any evidence against us, and without a judge’s permission to do so. We were not charged with anything, and the evidence they had been told by politicians to use as an excuse to arrest us was proven beyond all doubt to be absolute nonsense – and the police knew that it was even before they arrested us. In the meanwhile, the media presented us as Neo-Nazis and terrorists with links to the Zionist terrorist Anders Breivik. They did because they had been told to do so, by the same politicians who had ordered our illegal arrest in the first place.

Our home after the arrest:

When we were released from custody, cleared of all suspicions, the media were told by the same politicians not to talk more about our case, and most didn’t either. So the image of us as Neo-Nazis and terror suspects remained in large parts of the French public…

Shortly after the release from custody, my wife and I got our children back, in spite of my parents-in-law, who wrote a letter to a judge and tried to take our children from us. They wanted to keep them, to spare them of the ‘evil Nazi’ influence of their parents and to send them to public school (we home-school our children, something they obviously don’t approve of). The judge naturally ruled in our favour, and our children were allowed to return home after one week away from us.

After our release the bank closed our account without any explanation, and then an online bank service closed our account, again without any explanation, and banned us forever. Then the same politicians who had ordered our arrest to start with tried to have me expelled from France, on grounds of me being “a threat to national security”. The judges, again, ruled in my favour. Finally the politicians decided to have me charged with (I am not kidding): “apology for war crimes and crimes against humanity”, “anti-Semitism” and “racism”, because of my posts here on Thulean Perspective. They held back the ‘evidence’ against me, some 900 pages of information, until a few days before the trial, so my lawyer asked for the case to be postponed, on grounds that he had not been given the opportunity to prepare my defence. The judges agreed, and postponed the case to the 3^rd of June this year.

So the process continues, and I risk up to 5 years in prison, because of things I supposedly have published here on Thulean Perspective. Yes; up to 5 years in prison in France for writing on a blog…. in English, on a server in the USA.

This is the status of Europe today: the so-called ‘democracies’ are in reality dictatorships, where those in power can do whatever they want to , without consequence. Yes, on paper we could have sued the politicians responsible for our illegal arrest, but they prevent that from ever happening by continously persecuting us or having others persecute us. They are thus draining our ecomony, leaving us without the means to sue them. Having boomer parents-in-laws, who jumped on the opportunty to punish their daughter for having married me, by trying to take our children from us (probably to use them as hostages, to force my wife to divorce me), naturally didn’t help either. The trial the 3^rd of June thus makes sense: they want to make sure that I will never be able to sue them. You see, I need a lawyer for my defence, and lawyers are very expensive. They don’t need a conviction to win: they ruin my ability to sue them no matter what. It’s a win-win situation for them.

So why were we arrested in the first place, when we had done nothing wrong? The answer is simple: they don’t want anybody to speak up against them and their lunatic agenda. I promote European culture, by advocating good European ideals, values, traditions and ideas, and they don’t want me to. Nor do they want any others to do so, and nobody wants to have their doors shot up, something the authorities are apparently willing to do even with pregnant wives and small children inside, and even when there is no evidence whatsoever of any criminal activity by whoever is inside… In other words: it’s psychological warfare. They scare people into silence, by terrorizing me and my family. They make people not want to promote our own Pagan culture, and thus make it easier for them to replace it.

Why do they want to replace our culture? Well; you ask them…

My friends at Scriptoblog have written a post about this case, with a link to a Facebook support account, encouraging people to show up in Paris the 3^rd of June, around 13:00, to support me and my family against the terror of the politicians in the government in France. I hope to see many of you there. Show individuals in the government that we don’t tolerate their behaviour, and that we are not afraid!

First some music.

In case you didn’t know: I don’t enjoy writing. I don’t want to write. I don’t plan to write. I fact, every time I do write something, like I do now with this post for the TP blog, I plan not to write anything more, ever again, but I always fail to do so. I fail because I feel a strong need to ensure the survival of the most essential parts of our European (Pagan) culture, and to do so I have to write down what I know about this, and what others don’t seem to know, and eventually publish what I write in form of books.

Every man must die, but a tribe can live forever. I worry not about my life; my life is good and I have no complaints personally, and if I die today I die knowing that I spent my time well. But I worry about the life of my tribe, my people, my race. Our Pagan culture is the foundation on which we stand. Without it we will fall, sink into the ground – like we are doing today, and like we have done the last thousand years – and eventually disappear from the face of the earth. As part of my tribe I don’t want that to ever happen: I am alive, my survival instincts are intact, so I keep writing… to ensure that the foundation remains strong and powerful. To ensure that our glorious, thoroughly good and deeply honest tribes will be able to at one point rid itself of the foreign yoke, Judeo-Christianity, and then return to greatness, in mind, blood and spirit, and live honourable lives again, like we did in the days of yore.

The blood of our Pagan forebears is in us, so we can remember and miss that Golden Age of Europe. We can feel the longing deep within our hearts and minds. We can remember the Europe that was not committing suicide, that was not destroying itself.

And we can miss it.

And we can work to make it return.

Science is not a new thing; ever since we came to be here on Earth we have tried to understand the world we live in. The first to do so, the first scientists, were sorcerers, who tried to figure out the relationship between the spirits of nature and man. Their spells and other activities often resulted in highly scientific results, and e. g. medicine – yes even modern medicine – is based on their work. In Classical Antiquity we saw much more scientific work, but science in Europe was then interrupted by about a thousand years of darkness, as Judeo-Christianity prevailed in Europe. We emerged from this suffocating darkness when the European (i. e. Pagan) ideals resurfaced, in the Renaissance, and ever since science has been advancing in the same speed as Judeo-Christianity has retreated.

Science has never been completely honest though: even from the beginning the sorcerers often understood that at least some of the things they did were pure humbug, but in order to keep their power – as sorcerer-kings and rulers of society – they kept up the charade.

Sorcery was with time replaced by religion (actually a horrible set-back to science), and was then eventually replaced by a religion of ‘reason’, of science itself: the priest was replaced by the scientist, the words of “God” by scientific laws, “the Creation” by “The Big Bang” and the saviour was replaced by Einstein. Rather than be burned alive for pointing at the illogical properties of the current trend in belief systems, the critics of modern science are thoroughly ridiculed and ‘socially castrated’ – or even diagnosed with all sorts of horrible and emberrassing mental illnesses. If you question any of their “laws” or point at less praiseworthy sides of Einstein you will be viciously attacked by them and their followers – i. e. the media and other servants of the system. Or as one can say: by the zealots of the new religion called “science”.

The scientists do just like the priests of the past: they talk about ‘miracles’ (of science) and present their interpretations of events that the majority has no opportunity to in any way validate. So if a priest can swear that he knows that Jesus walked on water, then you just have to trust that he in fact did. Likewise, if a scientists says that this or that is true, then you just have to trust that to be true. His colleges confirm that he is right, so why would you doubt him? Before “God has said so” was enough to install blind obedience and trust, and today “it is scientifically proven” does the same.

In effect, man today is no less a slave to the will of the priests, to the sorcerers and their humbug.

Sorcery had spirits, the priests have a ‘saviour’, and science has Einstein. Even today we don’t really know if spirits exist, we have found no way to prove or disprove it, and whether Jesus was real or not is not even relevant, because even if he was real it doesn’t mean that he was anything like the priests say he was like, and Einstein…. Yes, what can we say about Einstein? I will let Ian Mosley say a few words about Einstein.

So Einstein was a plagiarist and a fraud. The one most known and famous symbol of modern science was a fraud! Interesting… And they do their best to keep this a secret. Just like the sorcerers did their best to keep it a secret that their spells didn’t actually work; just like the priests keep it a secret that Jesus never even existed, but is just a fictional character created by “cut and paste” activity; by stealing ideas from other religions. 

Is all science a fraud then? Of course not. But modern science is being misused to enslave us all, to seduce, to fool and to dupe us all, and to ensure that we all serve the agenda of those in power – i. e. those who control science.

So what are we left with? Disillusionment? Yes. And where do we stand? Are we back to where we started? Sorcery? Well, in a sense yes. We still have no idea about even the laws of nature, and we can – through reason alone – understand that much of what the scientists tell us is plain wrong. That is, if you have the courage to think for yourself, of course. Not many do: most just want to fit in and follow the herd. The prospect of having to live justly in solitude is more scary to them than the prospect of having to walk shamefully into certain doom along with the herd.

We need to throw all dogmas out the windows, and start from scratch. We need to get rid of all respect for the scientists and their claimed results, and be rude enough to question everything anew. Today we don’t ask, because we are told that Einstein was a genius and had the answers, and we are too stupid to know better than him. Only he wasn’t a genius: he was a fraud… and many others in science were frauds too. How many?

Question everything you hear. Think everything over, and see if it makes sense. If it does, believe in it. If it doesn’t, don’t trust it to be true. No matter what scientists say; don’t trust them. Trust your faculties of reason instead.

From 1993 and until this very day I have had a problem with the Norwegian media and even the Norwegian educational system, who systematically, consequently and intentionally spread lies about me, to undermine me as a dissident voice. So even today the most common perception of me in Norway is that I am just some retarded lunatic, a ‘satanist’ and a ‘neo-nazi’, with serious mental problems. As late as last year they had a psychologist say in the media (Aftenposten) that I would have been given a diagnosis, had I been examined today. It is indeed interesting to see that a psychologist I have never spoken to thinks he can tell that I need a diagnosis, when psychiatrists, and not at all psychologists, are the ones who normally diagnose people (after talking to them personally). Well: apparently it is not so in Norway, and certainly not in relation to me!

We know well the tactic of giving diagnoses to dissidents, from the Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea, DDR and other totalitarian regimes, and this is done to undermine them and basically destroy their credibility. Yes: Norway is no different from these regimes in that context! This should not be surprising though, considering that a fair number of the politicians, journalists, reporters, lecturers and teachers in Norway were Marxists, Maoists, Enver Hoxha fans and Pol Pot-supporters in the 70ies, and many even consciously worked as agents for the Soviet Union or – more commonly – DDR. When the Cold War ended the former Warsaw Pact countries changed, but ‘Soviet Norway’ was on the winning NATO side, so it mostly remained a horribly oppressive, socialist extremist system. The one single state-controlled TV station was given controlled competition (Yes! We had one single state controlled TV station in Norway until 1991!), and the few state-controlled radio stations too, but by and large the totalitarian system remained – supported by the USA and NATO. The petroleum industry alone ensured Norway’s economic survival – and much of the ‘oil wealth’ was and still is used to create a false image of Norway abroad, and even to bribe others to talk warmly about Norway: “the best country to live in in the world”, no doubt.

Parts of the extremists in power in Norway also try to ignore me though, to pretend that I don’t exist, to erase me from the history of Norway. The official Norwegian online encyclopedia for example does its best to do just that: I am only mentioned once, and only in context with Mayhem – and of course without mentioning my real name… they just call me Kristian Vikernes. Varg Vikernes never existed, according to them… “Varg who? Never heard of him.”

A journalist who reviewed “Belus” in 2009, and was rude enough to say he liked it, had to defend having done so in several radio interviews. According to another journalist, the leaders of the mass media institutions in Norway have agreed upon not to review any more of my albums. I am not to be described in a positive way, and thus to describe me as a creative musician is a big no no. If they are to mention me, it is only to be done in a negative way: as a terrorist suspect, a ‘satanist’, a ‘neo-nazi’, a murderer, a church burner, and not least: as a person who should have been given a diagnosis…

Ah! So they do know who Varg is after all then, and they know well who I am. *Phew* I almost thought I was imagining my own existence there for a moment…

Will this never change? Will they continue to ignore me or spread lies about me in Norway? Well, I honestly believe that things will change. Even in Norway, the most totalitarian state in all of Europe, information seeps in, the truth prevails, slowly, but surely. Now, don’t get me wrong: the information itself flows freely, we have the Internet now, but the truth is struggling to get through the truth-filters that most people today, and in particular Norwegians, have been equipped with – by the educational system and the entertainment industry, by the system itself. They are taught that up is down, and down is up, so they struggle to see the truth even when it hits them in the face, so to speak, but like I said: the truth seeps in, slowly, but surely. With time they will open their eyes, and after some time of feeling only shame, for having been so easily duped, they will grow angry – and when they do they will demand a change.

The poisonous lies that came from Norway spread out and infected an entire sub-culture. In Norway the entire society was soaked in lies about me, but abroad only the black metal sub-culture was infected. At least initially. And all of this happened whilst I was in prison, often knowing nothing about it, always being unable to do much – if anything at all – about the little I got to know about. I was in prison anyhow, so I had other concerns. I spent 10 years on isolation, and another 6 years amongst criminals, and just trying to survive mentally was a big enough challenge. Why would I worry if some arseholes – pardon my language – pretended to be me on the outside, and said stupid things in my name? I thought people were smart enough to understand that they could not be me, and that what they said could not be true. Alas! The naivity… Alas!

The lies from Soviet Norway grew and multiplied, and they were allowed to be cultivated pretty much sans objections from me. Naturally I tried to object, when I could, but when I did I was not heard. I tried to speak up, but who would let me? The Norwegian media only wanted negative news, filth, to support their image of me as an ‘evil incarnate’. Some did let me speak, but their magazines were small and rare, and it was to little avail – and when I did try to defend myself I was ‘of course’ attacked for that too: for being an attention whore. The lies prevailed. Their fictional image of Varg Vikernes prevailed.

In 2003 I received a letter from a Russian gentleman, who wanted to help me amend this situation, by making a Burzum website that was supposed to fight the lies, by concentrating all the truths on one website. That way all the lies spread by others, about me or in my name, would be at least weakened in force. It was a start, a good start, but we were fighting against all odds. What would one website be able to do against the might of the propaganda machine of Soviet Norway, and the hordes of duped metal-heads spreading their vile lies? Some of them even did it thinking they helped me by doing so!

Now, do you think that was what I wanted to spend my time on, when I finally got out of prison, in 2009? Should I spend all my time arguing on different forums, write articles and give interviews, to expose the many lies? No. I had better things to do. Trying to argue with trolls, complete idiots with no life of their own and individuals working actively to just spread lies about you is in any case useless. It most of the time will even be counter-productive.

At times though, I still spend some time trying to correct and explain – like I do here and now. It is not in my nature to accept injustice. Hopefully a day will come when the truth is appreciated, when justice will prevail, and even though nobody will care to listen today, then perhaps better men will listen in the future: dig up old information and find the truth, under the many layers of lies.

As you can understand, I say this now because next week I will go to court in Paris, the 3^rd of June, at 13:00, and I risk not only the lies of the prosecutor, ordered by certain politicians in France to present false evidence against me in order to harm me as much as possible, but also the lies of the propagandists of the mainstream media. I know that some of them are aware of the injustice I am being exposed to when I am charged with “racism, anti-Semitism and apology for war crimes and crimes against humanity”. I know that some few of them are there to tell the truth, and I hope that many – or even most – of them will do the same, but wise from harm, I have no expectations, and I wish to warn you in advance, of what might come.

The wind is turning though, the enemies of Europe are losing the battle, and more and more Europeans, even journalists and editors of mainstream media, have started to at least try to do the right thing – to stop letting small groups of ruthless anti-European gangsters dictate what and how they are going to report.

Europe has a proud history of justice, only interrupted for short periods of time every now and then, by periods of injustice – coming from the ‘head’, but never reaching all the way down to the ‘toes’. We are in one such period of injustice, it is mostly at the ‘head’ level and we are at the end of it – and we are because the injustic is so extreme and so random, it is harming Europe and Europeans so much, and it is so massive that it beomes harder and harder for ordinary Europeans not to see it – as clear and bright as the blue sky itself. The good thing then, when individuals like me are being viciously attacked by politicians who hate Europe and everything European and whose loyalty lies elsewhere (quand même!), is that it becomes so clear and so obvious that we need a change: we need to return to and embrace Justice!

Fellow Europeans, good men and women, gentlemen and ladies, journalists and editors; no matter what happens to me the 3^rd of June, use it for all it is worth to disarm the enemies of Justice – the enemies of everything European.

A long time ago our forebears practised what we would call sorcery: they cast spells to influence the spirits of nature. Some were better at this than others were, and yearly contests were organised to make sure that the tribe at all times had the best suited to be their sorcerer-king and sorcerer-queen. The king was selected based on his skills, strength, intelligence and good health. The queen was selected based on her innocence, patience and beauty.

We know this May couple and the May contests from both our fairy tales, mythology and traditional songs.

With time it became clear that the sorcerer’s spells didn’t always work, and some societies changed: rather than rely on the spell-casting skills of a sorcerer, they began to address the spirits more directly, and simply asked them to comply. When doing so the hermaphroditic spirits were athropomorphised and given a name and gender: so the spirit of lightning was called “Lightning”, in Scandinavia Loki (“lightning”, from the PIE root *luk-), the spirit of thunder was called “Thunderer”, in Scandianvia Þórr (“thunderer”), etc. The trees and animals these spirits had originally been associated with turned into the attributes of the deities. So Þórr’s temple was based around an oak tree, and his carriage was said to be pulled by goats. Freyja’s temple was based around a cherry tree, and her carriage was said to be pulled by cats. Etc.

The society was still penetrated on all levels by the idea of sorcery (‘sympathetic magic’) though, so in order to gain the powers of the deities man – i. e. priests and priestesses – could simply impersonate the deities. E. g. by dressing up as a goddess, by impersonating her, by taking her name a girl became her, and thus also gained all her powers. The gods and goddesses of the temples were thus very much real: they were there themselves! Listening to the prayers of man, eating the sacrificed animals, healing injured men, and being pulled or carried around to the fields to bless them, etc. The deities were real! The sorcerer-king and sorcerer-queen were thus replaced by the god-king and the goddess-queen, but not much changed, really.

Yearly contests were still organised to make sure that the tribe at all times had the best suited to be their god-king and goddess-queen. The king was still selected based on his skills, strength, intelligence and good health. The queen was still selected based on her innocence, patience and beauty.

The winners of these annual contests were given an apple. The aging man stood no chance of winning an Olympic games type contest against younger and stronger men, and the aging girl stood no chance of winning a beauty contest against younger and more beautiful girls. Thus the deities were kept young forever, by the help of Íðunn’s apples.

As explained here, our forebears didn’t believe in “gods” as we today often understand the term. The term “god” in English is an Anglo-Saxon term, and the original meaning is simply “good”, “good thing”, “good deed”, “benefit”, “goodness” or “welfare”. The good and beneficial spirits of nature were hailed as “gods”, and the harmful and some times even malevolent spirits of nature were naturally not.

The European deities were (and still are) ideals, positive concepts such as “the spirit of honesty” or “the spirit of justice”, and unless impersonated by men or women, actors playing the role of certain gods or goddesses, these deities naturally never answered the prayers of men. So there was no pathological relationship between the Pagan European and his deities. He was not at all relating to his deities like the Judeo-Christians do in relation to their “god”. He did not hear voices, “the voice of god”, when there were in fact nobody speaking to him. He did not expect nothing to produce something. He did not address nothing.

Who is this guy talking to?

His sacrifices were to real deities; he gave something to his deity and then got something in return. His prayers were addressed to real deities; he asked for something, negotiated with his deity, and then they agreed on something. He could see and touch and communicate with his deities: the deities were real! The deities were impersonated by men and women of flesh and blood. The deities were kept forever young, immortal, by the yearly selections.

This was the case in Ancient Greece, Ancient Scandinavia, Ancient Gaul, Ancient Britannia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Persia etc., wherever men of European stock dwelled.

A very much real deity

The spirits of nature are very much real too, and they are called spirits because they are not physicals. They are what we would call ideals: honesty, courage, justice, health, beauty, purity, innocence, kindness, love, etc. These ideals – spirits – were seen everywhere in nature. A particularly courageous animal would be an animal linked to the spirit of courage, a particularly kind animal would be an animal linked to the spirit of kindness, a particular strong tree would be a tree linked to the god of strength, etc. You an always argue that “there are no spirits”, but you would be as wrongs as if you argued that there is no honesty, courage, justice, health, beauty, purity, innocence, kindness, love, etc-
